Wolf-Henrich (Henner) Fahrenbach, Ph.D., was born in Berlin, Germany, in 1932. He earned a Ph.D. in zoology at the University of Washington in 1961, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Anatomy at the Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA, from 1961 to 1963. He served as the head of the Laboratory of Electron Microscopy at the Oregon Regional Primate Center in Beaverton, OR, from 1967 to 1997, and as a Clinical Affiliate Professor in the Department of Integrative Biosciences at the Oregon Health & Sciences University’s School of Dentistry in Portland, OR, from 1987 to 2007. Professional memberships include(d) the American Association of Anatomists, American Society for Cell Biology, American Association for the Advancement of Science, Sigma Xi, and others. He served on the Editorial Boards of the International Journal of Insect Morphology and Embryology (1978-1982) and Zeitschrift für vergleichende Physiologie (1977-1982).
From 1954 through 2007, Fahrenbach published many articles in a wide variety of scientific journals. In 1998 he published "Sasquatch: Size, Scaling and Statistics" in the journal Cryptozoology. He has also published several online articles pertaining to sasquatch biology. One such article from 1999, "Sasquatch Dimensions and Traits", is a condensed version of his Cryptozoology paper, along with some added material.
Fahrenbach is widely considered to be adept in the identification of hair and, as of 1999, had accumulated a collection of over a dozen samples thought to be of sasquatch origin. Laboratory efforts as of that date to isolate diagnostic DNA sequences had not yet been successful.[1]
In 2003, Fahrenbach presented "The Skin and its Appendages" at the International Bigfoot Symposium in Willow Creek, CA.
In 2009, Fahrenbach instructed a course entitled, "Big Foot: An Introduction to Sasquatch: North America's Great Ape" (p. 13) during the Summer session of the Lifelong Learners program at the Superstition Mountain Campus of Central Arizona College in Apache Junction, AZ.
